Members Install Another Antenna In Support Of Alaska Emergency Communications

AARC
members
installed a new Diamond X-50A in the Food Bank/Red Cross Headquarters
Building for use in Emergency Operations. This adds one more to
a growing list of antennas AARC
members have installed across the Fairbanks area for use with ARES
Emergency Operations and in support of Emergency Communications.

The new antenna
is installed and operational at the local Food Bank/Red Cross
Building. It will be added to the growing list of available Emergency
Communication sites across the area.

Amateur Radio Club Hams provide
support at all Alaskan checkpoints, with one or more intrepid
AARC Hams
providing radio communications along
the trail, physically attempting to stay ahead of the mushers. AARC
members staff the Fairbanks Visitors
Log Cabin where we provide 24/7 "real-time" trail communications,
safety, emergency communications and musher positions.
