European World Cup qualifying kicks off in Lublin, Poland, on neutral territory for these two sides.

Since independence in 1994, the Czech Republic have qualified for all seven European Championships including Euro 2020 coming up this summer.

However, they’ve only ever made it one World Cup, getting there in 2006, and that’s something they keen to change in this campaign.

Jaroslav Šilhavý’s side will also come into this international window full of confidence.

Back in the Autumn, they were promoted to UEFA Nations League A, winning their League B group above Scotland, Slovakia and Israel.

Will they start this campaign with a vital victory?

Estonia meanwhile have never qualified for a major tournament and that’s unlikely to change any time soon.

They’ve only ever won 32 of 158 competitive internationals, last tasting victory on 18 November 2018 in Greece.

In 2020, they finished bottom of their Nations League C group, below Armenia, North Macedonia and Georgia, so will face a relegation play-out against Cyprus to avoid dropping into League D.

This is Thomas Häberli’s first game as Head Coach but his side are favourites to finish bottom of Group E.

At the other end, only the group winners qualify for Qatar 2022 with the runners-up advancing to a play-off round.

Belgium are heavy favourites to come first so Wales and Czech Republic will surely be fighting it out for second.

Thus, the Czechs cannot slip up at Arena Lublin.

Prediction: Estonia 0-3 Czech Republic
Czech Republic have met Estonia three times previously with the Czechs winning all three meetings, scoring eight and conceding one.

However, they haven’t been drawn together since Euro 2000 qualification.

The Czechs have won 11 of their last 17 competitive internationals.

Estonia meanwhile are winless in 14, losing ten of those.
