Will Denmark make it to another major tournament?
Back in 2019, the Red and White qualified for Euro 2020 top of their group, finishing unbeaten in Group D.
Thus, they’ve now qualified for 14 World Cups or Euros including four of the last six tournaments.
Denmark got to the round of 16 at Russia 2018 and this match commences their road to Qatar 2020.
Kasper Hjulmand took over as Head Coach in 2020 and made an impressive start in the UEFA Nations League.
They finished second in their group with ten points, losing home and away to Belgium, but taking four points off England including a 1-0 win at Wembley.
Thus, they come into this campaign as the eighth highest ranked side in Europe and the top seed in this group.
Israel meanwhile are still looking to make history.
Their only World Cup appearance came in 1970, reaching the finals in Mexico as an Asian nation.
Since switching to UEFA in 1994, they’ve failed to qualify for any of the 14 major tournaments.
The Blue and Whites did come close to getting to Euro 2020, losing to Scotland in the play-off semi-finals on penalties.
Now, Willibald Ruttensteiner’s side are dreaming of going all the way.
He can call on a fierce strike duo of Eran Zahavi and Mu’nas Dabbur who’ve scored 15 and ten goals this season for PSV Eindhoven and Hoffenheim respectively.
In European World Cup qualifying, the group winners qualify for the World Cup finals with the runners-up advancing to the play-offs.
These two as well as Austria and Scotland will be battling it out for those two spots, making every point vital.
Who will get off to a winning start at Bloomfield Stadium?
Prediction: Israel 1-2 Denmark
Denmark have only lost nine of their last 58 qualification matches.
Eran Zahavi though has scored 24 international goals for Israel, 18 of which have come since November 2018.
This helped him be the joint-second top scorer in Euro 2020 qualifying, behind only Harry Kane.
